Runner Rug Pads

Long runner rugs tend to shift and slide out of place easily. We have selected several runner rug pads that work particularly well with keeping runner rugs anchored on hard surface flooring.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which rug pads are best for runner rugs?

Typically, the best runner rug pads are low profile, high performance rug pads. We recommend Pure Grip rug pads with runner rugs which include Anchor Grip, Super Lock Natural, and Nature’s Grip. Super Lock Natural is often our #1 recommendation for runners as it provides the most gripping power.

  • Can you use thicker rug pads with runner rugs?

You can, but I wouldn’t go above ¼’’ thickness. The problem with a thicker pad is the pad will lift the rug too high off the ground, causing people to trip.

  • Which runner rug pads safe for hardwood floors?

All of our runner rug pads are safe with hardwood floors. If you are refinishing floors, it’s best to wait at least 30 days before using a rug pad.

  • How much shorter will you cut the pad than the rug itself?

We cut the rug pad 1” shorter on all sides to make sure the pad will stay hidden. With thicker pads, we cut 1.5’’ smaller on all sides than the actual rug.
