Customer Questions & Answers
Which is the thinnest pad out of RugPro and Nature's Grip?
RugPro is 1/16" thick which makes it our thinnest pad.
Which rug pad would you recommend for a latex-backed nylon rug next to a kitchen sink? And which pad for a 4' x 3' wool cotton backing rug in a living room and two mini cotton rugs for my dogs? Actually, would I need a rug pad since they’re cotton?
I don’t think you need pads for the smaller rugs, but I recommend pads for the two larger ones. I would go with Contour Lock for both. It is a recycled felt and natural rubber pad that offers gripping and cushioning and is moisture and mildew resistant.
I need a non-slip rug pad for a 4 by 3 wool flatweave Kilim that sits on a tiled (sometimes radiated) bathroom floor. Cushioning is not important. The only issue I have is there is very little door clearance. Which pad do you recommend I use?
I would recommend the RugPro felt and natural rubber pad since it is a non-slip pad that is just 1/16" thick. Not only will this rug pad keep your Kilim in place but it is also suitable for heated floors.
I have luxury vinyl plank floors and need the appropriate non-slip pads for several 4 feet x 3 feet rugs for the kitchen and bathroom. Is the Anchor Grip good for this type of floor?
Yes, it is. Anchor Grip is usually safe for luxury vinyl floors. But before purchasing, I would contact the flooring company and ask them for guidelines just in case there is an issue.
We have a 4' x 3' rug on hardwood kitchen floors to prevent discoloration from dripping water and high traffic. The rug will not slip as it is against cabinetry and the fridge. What pad do you recommend that won’t scratch the floor finish?
For maximum floor protection and to stop potential slipping that could occur with your rug, I recommend Contour Lock. This is a low profile felt and natural rubber pad that is safe for all floors and finishes.
I bought a pad to go under a rug on a hardwood floor. However, the rug slips off the pad as it is not held securely. Do you have any suggestions?
You could use some carpet tape to keep the rug in place or look at one of our felt and natural rubber pads such as Superior Lock. The felt component of these pads acts like Velcro to keep rugs stable and secure.
We have an oil finish hardwood floor and 3' x 4' Mohawk Home rubber-backed (not natural rubber) area rugs at each entry way. Can we use a rug pad under these rugs to stop the possibility of yellowing our new floor? If so, which do you recommend?
Yes, you can. Our natural rubber will protect your hardwood floor. Please, take a look at RugPro and Contour Lock. These are firm gripping felt and natural rubber rug pads.
Is Superior Lock the right choice for a 4' x 3' kitchen oriental rug on a tile floor in a high-traffic zone? If so, what thickness should I go for? I would like grip and cushion but am concerned about tripping.
Yes, Superior Lock is an excellent choice for your rug. This felt and natural rubber pad will provide grip and cushion. I wouldn't suggest anything over 1/4" thick if there is going to be a lot of traffic on the rug.
I would like a pad for a calf hide that I recently bought. It is smallish and on a hardwood floor in the bedroom so it's a low-traffic area. I'd like grip and cushion. Can you recommend a pad? And can I cut the pad to size once it arrives?
The best pad for gripping and cushioning that will still maintain a low profile for the hide would be Contour Lock. I'm also suggesting this 1/8" thick felt and natural rubber pad because it will be easy for you to cut yourself. You just need a good pair of shears.
