How to extend the life of your rug pad

Our premium Non-slip Rug Pads are designed to last for the lifetime of your rug with very little added maintenance. Our pads do not use any glues, chemicals, or adhesives will NOT mold or mildew if they come in contact with liquid.

Here are a few quick tips to help you keep your rug pads looking fresh as the day you purchased them.

Clean up spills

When a spill occurs on your rug, clean it up as soon as possible. Felt pads may need extra blotting and spot treatment, but rubber memory foam pads are water resistant and can be wiped clean with a paper towel.

Vacuum

Solid material pads, such as felt and memory foam rug pads may require a quick vacuum every 1-2 years, depending on how much foot traffic the rug is receives. Open weave rubber rug pads like Superior Lock Natural or Nature's Grip are breathable so do they do not need to be vacuumed themselves, but the floor beneath them should be cleaned at least once a year.

Shake 'em out

We couldn't figure out the technical term for this, but it's a good idea to bring your rug pads outside and shake them out as you would clean a rug periodically. This can be done while cleaning your hardwood or hard surface flooring.
